Toyota Mobility Products

Toyota is designing some of the world’s most innovative mobility products
A selection of some of our most exciting mobility concepts; some of which have already seen successful action.

  • LQ

LQ is a concept vehicle that leverages advanced technology to build an emotional bond between car and driver under a core development theme of “Learn, Grow, Love.” LQ is equipped with SAE Level 4 automated driving capabilities and Yui, a powerful AI-powered interactive agent designed to learn from the driver and deliver a personalised mobility experience. The name LQ expresses Toyota’s hope that this approach will “cue” the development of future vehicles that enhance the relationship between car and driver.

  • e-Palette

e-Palette is a next-generation BEV developed specifically for Mobility as a Service (MaaS), which applies technologies like electrification and connected & automated driving. The e-Palette is very versatile as it can provide services such as transportation as well as commerce to support customers' lives. E-Palette vehicles are planned, amongst others, for operation in Toyota’s human-centric Woven City, a prototype city for testing and developing technologies such as automated driving, MaaS and personal mobility. Going forward, Toyota aims to work with partners to commercialize e-Palette vehicles in multiple areas.

  • Accessible People Mover

At the Tokyo 2020 Games, Toyota showcased a specially-designed Accessible People Mover (APM) that is developed to offer last-mile transport. This low-speed, short-distance BEV can seat up to six people. It helped to transport people to events and venues, including athletes and staff related to the Games, as well as all people with accessibility needs. When used for passengers in wheelchairs, the configuration can be modified by folding the seats to allow the wheelchair rider in the second row.

  • i-ROAD

The concept i-ROAD is a compact three-wheeled BEV. It offers a unique and enjoyable riding experience by combining the size and convenience of a motorcycle with the comfort and stability of a car. Smart, innovative ‘active lean’ technology makes the Toyota i-ROAD fun to drive while providing greater access to city areas. It can seat up to two people and is designed to feature in urban sharing services and at tourist destinations.

  • C+Pod

The C+pod is an ultra-compact, environmentally-friendly two-seater battery electric vehicle. Smaller than a mini vehicle, it has been designed as a mobility option for a diverse group of daily users who frequently travel short distances with few passengers. This might include young, single new drivers, users in urban or mountainous communities needing safe, unrestricted, and environmentally-friendly transportation options or corporate users visiting customers on a regular basis.

  • Micro Palette

This little autonomous Micro Palette has been designed to deliver physical goods to a loved one. Whether making convenient door-to-door package deliveries or helping move warehouse inventory, the Micro Palette (concept) can do it with a "smile". This last-mile mobility device gives a glimpse of what emotion-filled distribution could look like in the future.

  • C+Walk T

This new and commercialised form of mobility for walking areas is an easy to operate, standing-type BEV on three wheels. The C+Walk T is compact to use in walking areas and travels at typical human walking speeds. It is very convenient when travelling across large-scale facilities, for work or for leisure.

  • Other walking-area concept BEVs

Walking-area BEVs are designed to facilitate moving around in pedestrian zones. They provide mobility support in a range of situations. Our sitting-type and wheelchair-link personal mobility devices are particularly practical for people in wheelchairs or who have difficulty walking.
